Shirt: Ralph Lauren / Tie: Puritan / Belt: GAP / Pants: Perry Ellis / Socks: Banana Republic





Decided to mix things up and throw a "casual" ties into the mix. Casual by my standards, anyhow. I say this because I have seen such ties in the streets worn by gents on their way to work.
I guess it can be deemed corporate-office worthy. Not sure if I'll wear it to work again though.


Originally purchased the tie at Wal-mart for casual wear. Think it cost something like $8.

Went for the real casual look this Friday.

No tie today... Liking these wool/polyester pants I recently picked up at Ross.



Worth mentioning: The right back pocket doesn't feature a button, as opposed to the left back pocket which includes a flap/button. The asymmetrical pocket layout actually suits me fine b/c I favor keeping my wallet in my right back pocket (unbuttoned of course for easy access), which means I typically end up keeping the left back pocket buttoned.

- I probably shouldn't have mentioned this tendency, ** cough**.

Shirt: Jos A Bank / Tie: Perry Ellis Portfolio / Belt: GAP / Pants: Calvin Klein



I normally only pair this tie with my purple (quadrille pattern shirt) . Why? Habit, I guess. You try out a shirt/tie combination, see that it works and before you know it you start to habitually combine the two at the expense of your other ties and shirts.

Anyway, decided to go with hue blue today. Think it works...

Moral of the story: Don't be afraid to actually try out different patterns/combinations (unless of course you have an inate gift that enables you to evaluate potential clothing combinations in your head), you never know what new outfits you may come up with.





* Ruts need to bee habitually line-stepped, clenched fist and all.

Shirt: Guess / Belt: GAP / Pants: Express Jeans (Rocco) / Shoes: Shayne & Shawn (Elgin)




Here's a casual Friday outfit you are more likely to see on the West coast as opposed to the East coast. I like the black jeans are from Express' ROCCO line (low-rise, slim fit) because they manage to be stylish while being work-appropriate at the same time.

The sneaker/boot hybrids (Elgins) are very much appreciated and in heavy rotation...










Can't get enough of Banana Republic socks...

Got the polo shirt as gift. Its a bit on the baggy side. Like the pants though. Cloth pattern is intricate yet subtle.





* Catching a roll of toilet paper thrown to my opposite shoulder... Not to be modest or anything but I think I easily have the best hands in the office.

* A-shirts/Wifebeaters: Great for people who like wearing an undershirt but don't like half of their undershirt showing.

Shirt: GAP / Belt: GAP / Pants: Dockers - RIP (literally, as well as figuratively)



Disaster struck today.

Of epic proportions, lol.

My pants ripped. Yes ripped at the seams. It wasn't a small rip either It was revealing enough that innocent bystanders would have been able to see the color/brand/texture of my undergarments had I not noticed it first. The fallout would have been devastating, I'm sure.

I guess I could have conveniently left this story out, changed pants and posted pics of my new outfit, but I want to use this as an opportunity for you to learn from my misfortune. What caused the tear I really don't know, but towards the end of the day I started to feel an unwelcome "draft" and knew what time it was. I grabbed a stapler (hey I had to get resourceful) and then proceeded to literally back my way to the office restroom (insert played prison joke here). The staple-job didn't quite work out so I ended up wrapping a sweater around my waist and strolling out of the office.

Moral of the story: As much as you try to avoid them, wardrobe malfunctions can strike at anytime to anyone. And just like in business (and life in general), resourcefulness can almost always get you out of such uncomfortable situations.

* Let us please have a moment of silence for the slacks that fell (or tore) during their tour of duty which, up until then, had served admiringly in protecting co-workers from seeing my drawers.
