5/08/09 - Friday

Shirt: LRG / Belt: GAP / Pants: Michael Brand

Yes, I sported LRG attire to work today and yes, people asked about the "artwork" on the sleeve, lol.

In regards to the shirt, I'm not a fan of the quality, honestly. The shirt is sufficient for weekend wear but I don't think I will be wearing this to work again. I can't complain though... I got it at a sample sale for around 70% off.

5/07/09 - Thursday

Shirt: Geoffrey Beene / Tie: Perry Ellis Portfolio / Belt: Invisible / Pants: Dockers

Decided to support the "no belts" movement today. I actually "forgot" to wear them prior to leaving for work. This, by the way, is why I "hate" new surroundings, it throws my routine off, lol.

I did manage to provide my friends with ample smack(talk)-material, however. Hey, anything I can do make them feel like they are next coming of Russell Peters, I guess.

5/05/09 - Tuesday

Shirt: Jos A Bank / Tie: Old Navy / Belt: Express / Pants: Calvin Klein

Here's the shirt (link) paired the shirt with another slim tie. I think I like the other tie better.

5/04/09 - Monday

Shirt: Jos A Bank / Tie: Sean Jean / Belt: Express / Pants: Perry Ellis Portfolio

Please excuse the poor lighting, I made the mistake of getting my Annie Leibovitz on in the bathrooom of my new place. What, you think the pics are all captured in a professional photography studio? Get familiar.

I like the shirt primarily because of the neck sizing. I purposely decided to go one size up when purchasing this shirt. Ok, who were we kidding, it was on sale and that was the only size left... Seriously though, having to wear a tie to work has made me sensitive to such issues...

For you corporate heads, the tie may be a bit too "loud" for your liking...I'd have to admit that this isn't my most favorite of ties, based on usage.

5/01/09 - Friday

Shirt: Jos A Bank / Tie: Old Navy / Belt: GAP / Pants: Michael Brandon

Turning the flagrancy up.

4/30/09 - Thursday

Shirt: Jos A Bank / Tie: Old Navy / Belt: GAP / Pants: Michael Brandon

The Michael Brandon pants made another appearance this week. These pants might be grey by the end of the year if this usage pattern continues...

Ladies, you aren't alone: It is very hard for men to find pants that fit perfectly (and comfy to boot) as well. When glancing at these pants I'm liable to weep tears of joy while pumping my
fists. Laugh if you want to, Dick Vermeil and Kirk Gibson know how I feel.

4/29/09 - Wednesday

Shirt: Bruno / Tie: DKNY / Belt: GAP / Pants: Dockers Collection

The DKNY tie came off of the bench and provided another solid performance. This tie is turning out to be solid role player. And to think I picked it off of waivers (i.e. Ross) for less than $10...

4/28/09 - Tuesday

Shirt: Calvin Klein / Tie: Calvin Klein / Belt: GAP / Pants: Roundtree/Yorke

Wore the Calvin Klein starter kit today, lol. The shirt and tie were already paired with each other at the CK Woodbury Commons outlet store. The shirt looks great, although I'd prefer for the cotton to be a bit thicker. Its thin, not as soft and wrinkles easily, unlike the other Calvin Klein shirt I raved about.

Just goes to show you that you have to view business attire on an individual basis. Cuts, sizing, and/or fits can vary greatly within the same brand.

4/24/09 - Friday

Shirt: H&M / Tie: Blogger please / Belt: GAP / Cargo shorts: GAP

Vacation Day!

Guess this doesn't warrant a post as it doesn't quite pertain to corporate attire, but ehhh.

4/23/09 - Thursday

Shirt: Arrow / Tie: Perry Ellis - Portfolio / Belt: GAP / Pants: Dockers Collection

Repeat offender! Outfit similar to the one assembled on 03/24/09. Keen eyes will however notice that the pants are a lighter khaki this time around. After looking at the two I would have to say that I prefer the dark olive-colored pants over the light khaki ones.

Just noticed that I wore two Arrow brand shirts in a row. These hand-me downs from pops should qualify for AARP benefits. They have all held up well though.

4/22/09 - Wednesday

Shirt: Arrow-Fairfield / Tie: Merona / Belt: GAP / Pants: Michael Brandon

Wore traditional corporate attire for a change today. I do however have to say that the black pants (versus khaki) lend a more serious overall look to the ensemble. I decided to have my tie offset some of this seriousness. After all, work is fun, isn't it? *crickets

Anyhow, this is one of my 2 flower-pattern ties and I love it. It even matches the shirt, which should please the color-coordination die-hards out there. Randomly picked it up at Target of all places.

4/21/09 - Tuesday

Shirt: J Crew / Tie: Hardy Amies / Belt: GAP / Pants: Perry Ellis

Classic outfit, one that I can see myself wearing over and over again.

The shirt's hue (light) and pattern (check) contrast well against the tie's hue (dark) and pattern (polka dot).

4/20/09 - Monday

Shirt: Jos A Bank / Tie: Geoffrey Beene / Belt: GAP / Pants: Calvin Klein

Great outfit, I particularly like the pants. The darker khaki shade lends a more corporate, i.e. serious look to the outfit

Bonus:

Excerpt from the press conference held that day:

Reporter: Sir could you please comment on the importance of this pick-up?

Me: * Cough, clears throut, scoots chair closer to podium and leans into the mic*
"Well, adding another hue to the arsenal was definitely a crucial step towards preserving my quadrille-rule pattern st dynasty. Costs were spared to make this acquisition."
* flashes mega-watt smile, deftly stashes free water bottle

Reporter: What about the quality of the shirt? Will it enhance your performance in the office?

Me: "I was really impressed with quality of this dress shirt when I first tried it out in the off season. The cotton is top-notch and very durable. It allows me to focus on my work without having worry about being the best-dressed worker in the room. It also inspires my co-workers to dress better and I'm all about making my teammates better."

Reporter: Is there any help for people not as fortunate as your co-workers to see your outfits on a daily basis?

Me: Yes and it's really simple. Fire up that browser, google "Corporate Unis" and subscribe to my blog. Fans can also follow the blog via Twitter and receive automatic updates.

4/17/09 - Friday

Shirt: Barrington / Sweater: H&M / Belt: GAP / Pants: Calvin Klein

It was a bit chilly today so I kept the polos in the drawers today. I'll keep it simple: I love H&M sweaters.

Give me a H&M striped sweater, a collared shirt (tucked underneath the sweater), a decent pair of pants, and smart dress shoes (or clean kicks) and I'm good to go, any day of the week! Haha

4/16/09 - Thursday

Shirt: Kenneth Cole Reaction / Tie: H&M / Belt: GAP / Pants: GAP / Socks: Old Navy

Like the shirt, even though it wrinkles easily.

Wore black pinstripe pants today. The pants kind of limit combination opportunities from a color perspective when it comes to selecting an complimentary shirt. I normally limit the shirt selection to whites, grays and light blues. Rare corporate colors, I know.

Finally, I decided to throw in a wrinkle into the mix by adding a skinny tie. This the slimmest one I have in the arsenal. Straight Ethiopian-status.

4/15/09 - Wednesday

Shirt: Banana Republic / Tie: Old Navy / Belt: GAP / Pants: Perry Ellis

This outfit is borderline disrespectful. In a good way of course. It is definitely one of those outfits I can see myself wearing again.

4/14/09 - Tuesday

Shirt: Pierre Cardin / Tie: Jos A Bank / Belt: GAP / Pants: Calvin Klein

Got experimental today. ;-) The shirt is perfect for the summer. The material is Very light so it keeps me cool throughout the day. I'm liking the patterns on this shirt as well. Intricate, but not "loud," i.e. distracting.

4/13/09 - Monday

Shirt: J.Crew / Tie: DKNY / Belt: GAP / Pants: Michael Brandon

Solid outfit. Love the shirt. The pants fit great AND are also comfortable. Imagine that. Brought back the tie. When I first bought it I didn't envision it being an "everyday" tie. I still don't but it is definitely more versatile than I initially gave it credit for.

4/10/09 - Friday

Shirt: Aeropostale / Vest: H&M / Belt: GAP / Pants: Dockers

The streak finally ended! That's right, I never took a pic of what I wore on Friday. For those who aren't in the know, I take pictures of what I'm wearing the day of (and then comment on them later on).

* Slaps all around

Yeah I know I deserve physical reprimands from my loyal readership. Of course you knew that. The positive thing that we can draw from this ultimately, is that I was able to recreate the 'fit as it wasn't that hard to remember what I wore.

Ok, less gabbing, more describing... I got the shirt for a ridiculously low price a Tanger outlet shopping center just northeast of Atlanta, GA. Paid around $4-5 for it. Nutty. If I weren't going through some tough personal issues that day I probably would have bought a lot more. I put myself on a voluntary spending freeze when I'm in a bad mood b/c I feel that I end up making unnecessary purchases made when I'm in this state of mind. Anyway, I like the shirt. Usually wear it in casual settings but decided to break it out for the office, just to keep the co-works on their toes.

4/09/09 - Thursday

Shirt: Banana Republic / Tie: Old Navy / Belt: GAP / Pants: Michael Brandon

Another Old Navy slim tie sighting! I only bought 3, but I hope they come out with more patterns in the future.

This doesn't always happen, but I conceptualized the whole outfit way before I decided to wear it. Normally select the shirt I'm going to wear first, then the tie, then the pants. With this ensemble however I knew exactly what pants/tie/shirt I wanted to wear. There's a lot going on here pattern-wise, but the colorways are pretty consistent.

This is as out there as you can get, without sending your conservative corporate dressers into cardiac arrest that is.

4/08/09 - Wednesday

Shirt: Perry Ellis / Tie: Old Navy / Pants: Haggar / Belt: GAP

Continued where I left off yesterday with another dandy outfit. This time I paired a skinny tie with one of my most hated and loved shirts. Most hated/loved by who? Me of course. While I love the colors of this shirt, I 'm not a fan of the material, as it is very wrinkle-friendly. Nothing like spending an hour trying to iron a shirt only to have it come out looking like an origami project gone turribly wrong. Not cool. Like the shirt/time combination though.

4/07/09 - Tuesday

Van Heusen Fitted shirt / Brandini pants / Geoffrey Beene tie / GAP belt

I had return to the office with some heat after the bummy outfit I showed up to work in yesterday. This tie matches well with the khakis. As you can see the tie and pants contain light touches of white, both of which complement the dress shirt in an understated fashion.

* By the way Brandini's the name of the khaki brand, never heard of them before but they were on sale at Ross. Don't think I paid more than $20 for them.
